Colder
I may have seen the last butterfly of the year this afternoon. There was only one frog around yesterday, and one dragonfly. The juncoes have been here since about October 4th (the last hummingbird was September 20). I brought the pepper plant (one of those 'ornamental' ones? Hotter than you'd expect) in; it made it through last winter and seems to have enjoyed having a summer outside.

I've had the same experience that Norma had with bringing things in that I didn't want. So now all my houseplants (the few that I have) sit on a window sill that faces south, and I keep the windows open all summer long.
I never have enough light inside to compare to outside. But this year my potted oregano and sage are SO nice that I'm considering trying again. The worst that could happen is that I have to dry them.
We hadn't had fall until yesterday. Temperatures went down to 33 degrees. Suddenly, everything was yellow and orange. We are missing the reds this year.
I bring whatever into the garage, which never freezes. If it lives, it lives and if it dies, it's compost.
